The mandate of Fieldstone's Upper School is really quite simple: to build on the success that the Lower School has had in producing confident and able students and to further nurture and prepare those students for the challenges and rigours that await them at University and beyond. As a ministry-inspected institution, Fieldstone's Upper School delivers Ontario secondary school courses in a manner consistent with the curriculum expectations and assessment/evaluation techniques used throughout the province.

The Upper School embraces Fieldstone's established tradition of Global Knowledge (our class of 2007 was the first eligible class to earn Fieldstone Global Knowledge Upper School Diploma), and beginning in Grade Seven, begins to emphasize the skills that our students will require for success in secondary school and university. To the school's overall mission statement, the Upper School adds one more very important point: we strive to prepare our students for acceptance into and success at the university programme of their choice.
Our growing group of graduates has had tremendous success in gaining admission to some of Canada's most competitive university programmes. Currently, proud Fieldstone alumni can be found on the campuses of the Harvard, University of San Diego, University of Toronto, Queens, York, Western Ontario, Carleton, Waterloo, McMaster, University of Oldenberg, Amritsar Medical College in India and several other universities throughout Ontario.
While academic achievement and success at university are the measurable indicators of a successful Upper School, there is so much more that young people need in order to flourish at school. Fieldstone provides the co-curricular and leadership opportunities necessary for our students to hone their skills and build their confidence outside the classroom. In a small and nurturing environment, all students have the opportunity to experience what it means to be an active participant in a dynamic community. Whether by playing on one of our many athletic teams, running for student government or showing leadership in community service, Fieldstone Upper School students gain a unique sense of belonging and the satisfaction that they are helping to build traditions that will last for generations to come.
In my role as Head of Upper School and Principal, which includes overseeing the delivery of the academic programme, university guidance, student discipline and other duties, I strive to establish a strong working relationship with every student and parent in the Upper School community. I believe that these relationships, and the ones that are forged among the teachers, students and parents, help set the unique tone for the productive and supportive environment that exists in the school.
I look forward each year to working with Fieldstone's students, parents, teachers and administrators in achieving the goal of the Upper School: producing competent and confident young men and women who will turn the knowledge and skills that they learn at this school into success in their chosen paths in the future.
Sincerely,

Jonathan Harris
Principal
